Welcome

The Metro Camera Club was founded in 1977. The aim of the Metro Camera Club, a non-profit organization, shall be the enjoyment, mastery, and furtherance of photography through cooperation, effort, and good fellowship. It's our hope that if you enjoy photography, you will enjoy associating with us. We are presently over 100 members and offer education, competition and fun.

We share our knowledge by joining in group activities that allow us to share our experiences. There is a broad range of skill levels within the group and through sharing, we are able to achieve higher degrees of technical and artistic ability. Through these activities we hope to nurture the ability to "see" and to share our interest in photography as a form of artistic expression. Monthly competition is used as the structure for learning, sharing, and challenging ourselves in our hobby. Members are not required to submit images for competition, but are encouraged to do so, as a way to develop their skills. Thanks for visiting and we look forward to seeing you at one of our meetings.

JACK VAUGHN "BEST OF YEAR" ENTRY RULES AND DIRECTIONS FOR 2019

Entries for the Jack Vaughn Award (BEST OF YEAR AWARD) will be due Nov. 12, 2019. Please note     this is the second Tuesday of November….The Garden Center is closed on our regular Monday   meeting this year!

You are allowed to enter up to (3) entries in B&W Print, Color Print, Color Slide, B&W PDI,Color PDI,       and Altered Reality PDI categories. Outside judges will be used for this competition.

You must physically bring B&W Prints, Color Prints, and slides to the meeting and give to Joe Wilson.    Leave the name of the print on the print (the tag used for the original competition entry can be left on the   print….easier to identify that way)

John Williams will have your PDI entries in printed thumbnail form for you to pick your entries that night.  Remember, only images entered in 2019 are eligible for consideration for the Jack Vaughn Award for this year. No changes or modifications are allowed and you must use the same title as when first entered. You do not have had to put in a minimum of entries for this competition. REPEAT the only criteria are the image entered for this year's Jack Vaughn Award has to have been entered in the 2019 calendar year in competition.
